One Of Tiger Woods' Biggest Critics Just Picked Him To Win The Open Championship
Hank Haney has been one of Tiger Woods' biggest critics. The former coach of Tiger is a self proclaimed person that likes to "tell it like it is". He has been critical of Woods in the past and has even gone on to say that Woods won't win another major. It seems now he has a change of tune. On his Sirius XM radio show, Haney picked Woods to win this week at Carnoustie:
Haney says the set up at Carnoustie is perfect for Woods and a course that can allow Tiger to not hit so many drivers sets up perfectly for him. Something I agree with. Tiger is at his best when he's ripping that driving iron and 3 wood right down the middle of the fairway. The driver is the club that gets him in trouble. He won't need the big dog much this week.
Woods himself has said just this week that the fairways at Carnoustie are faster than the greens. The course is firm, and fast, something Tiger can use to his advantage.
Tiger is a 22/1 favorite to win this week at The Open behind Dustin Johnson (12/1), Rory McIlroy (16/1) and Tommy Fleetwood (20/1). He is paired with Hideki Matsuyama and Russell Knox during the first two rounds of the championship.
